What is Ethos Academy: A Challenge Foundation Academy (CFA)?
Ethos Academy CFA partners with students, families, and the community to provide a rigorous, high-quality education for the development of thoughtful, highly literate citizens. Our students are prepared for the pursuit of personal excellence, for college and 21st Century careers, and for a lifetime as positive contributors in their community.
What is a charter school?
A charter school is a tuition-free, public school funded by the state of Arizona. It is independently operated by its board of directors and is not a part of any school district. In Arizona the majority of charter schools are authorized by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools. Charter schools were created to provide innovative educational choices for students, families, and communities.
What grades does Ethos Academy CFA serve?
Ethos Academy CFA will serve students in Kindergarten–8th grades. We are currently enrolling K-8.
Who can attend Ethos Academy CFA?
Any student eligible to attend an Arizona public school may apply for enrollment at Ethos Academy CFA. We do not discriminate based on disability, race, color, gender, national origin, or religion. We aim to keep classroom sizes under 25 for all grades in order to provide individualized attention to each student.
What is the daily schedule?
Students can arrive as early as 7:15 for breakfast; classes will start at 8:00 a.m. and students K-2 will be dismissed at 3:00 pm and students 3-8 will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m. Students will have reading, writing, math, science, and social studies classes daily, as well as specials classes (art, music, P.E., Spanish cultures, and technology) weekly. Ethos Academy will also provide “accelerated” class periods for students needing additional remediation or enrichment. Ethos Academy will offer several after school clubs and as well as an extended day program.
Is there a dress code?
Yes. To ensure an equitable environment that is conducive to learning and free from distraction, each student must follow the dress code at Ethos Academy CFA. Uniforms will be the standard. Uniform shirts will be available for purchase at Ethos Academy’s campus. For more information regarding the dress code and uniform policies, please contact Ethos Academy.
What is the curriculum at Ethos Academy CFA?
Ethos Academy CFA is proud to utilize Core Knowledge Language Arts and McGraw Hill My Math as the primary curricula, which has been aligned to Arizona Common Core Standards. The Core Knowledge Sequence exposes students to a broad range of historical, scientific, and cultural topics that develop a foundational knowledge which builds upon itself year after year, preparing students for succeeds in college and 21st Century careers.
